(1) Canadian Dental Hygienists Association (CDHA) Offerings
The CDHA documents below list CDHA's online learning opportunities that have been reviewed by the NSRDHDTD's Dental Hygiene Quality Assurance Committee (QAC) during their scheduled committee meetings. The last scheduled meeting was Feb 7, 2026.
If a course is not listed in the documents below, it was released by CDHA after the last scheduled meeting and has not yet been reviewed. It may still be eligible for credit if it meets the general criteria laid out in the CCP Requirements document, including sections 2.3 and section 6.
(2) Assigning Credit Hours for Other Online Course Providers
The table below, entitled Other Online Course Providers, includes online continuing education offered by providers/organizations that have been reviewed by the NSRDHDTD's Dental Hygiene QAC. The providers reviewed are the ones that are typically accessed by Dental Hygiene registrants. Use this Table to determine if the courses you are considering will be eligible for full credit hours, 50% credit hours, or if they are not eligible for any credit hours. The DH QAC will review other providers, upon submission. The DH QAC does not review courses before they are delivered.
While the DH QAC has reviewed sufficient offerings from the providers to determine whether sessions are eligible for hour-for-hour or 50% credit, the DH QAC has not reviewed every course. Please retain (and upload) each session's course outline, learning objectives, and presenter's name and qualifications. This information is used by the DH QAC to determine category allocations (e.g. Cat 1 or 3) and if the topic meets the general requirements set out in the CDHNS CCP Requirements document.
Please see the current CDHNS CCP Requirements document for changes to the requirements for virtual learning activities completed on or after October 1, 2021.
As of October 1, 2021, if a self-directed virtual learning activity e.g., an online webinar, does not have a post-test, you may complete a CDHNS Reflection Document. Full details are found in sections 6.1.5 and 6.2.3 (h) of the CCP Requirements.
This applies to learning activities completed on or after October 1, 2021.
