List of NSRDHDTD Registrants and Permitted Individuals
You can use the tables below to look up licensed, practising dental hygienists, dental technologists, denturists, and permitted dental laboratory technicians in Nova Scotia. You can also search for non-practising dental hygienists.
How to search
- Choose the correct table:
- Registered Table - dental hygienist, dental technologist., or denturist
- Permitted Table - dental laboratory technicians
- Select the profession - dental hygienist, denturist, dental laboratory technician, or dental technologist
- Search by name or number:
-
- First Name
- Last Name
- Licence or permit number
If you can't find someone's name, please contact us directly (see below for the contact information).
Additional Practice Competencies
This page also identifies individuals who have what are called "additional practice competencies". This means that the individual has provided evidence that they have the necessary competencies (skills) to perform them. The individual must be approved by the Registrar before they can begin performing these procedures.
- Dental hygienists may administer local anaesthetic (freezing), perform orthodontic procedures, or place permanent restorations.
- Denturists may make dentures over implants.
You'll see these listed under the 'Certifications' column in the Table. Important note: As of May 1, 2025, all dental hygienists in Nova Scotia can decide on their own when to provide care (self-initiation), unless their licence has a specific restriction. Because of this, “self-initiation” no longer appears in the Certifications column.
