List of NSRDHDTD Registrants
Use the table below to search for licensed, practising dental hygienists, dental technologists, and denturists in Nova Scotia, or for an individual who is a non-practising dental hygiene registrant. Select the license category, i.e., dental hygienist, dental technologist., or denturist. There is a separate table for individuals who hold a dental laboratory technician permit (which is in effect on July 2, 2025). You may search using the individual's first name, last name, or their Licence Number. If you do not see an individual's name, please contact NSRDHDTD directly using the contact information below.
This page also identifies what are called "additional practice competencies", which are advanced competencies that require authorization by the Registrar before registrants can perform the procedures, after they provide evidence they have met the Board-set requirements. For dental hygienists, this may be administerling local anaesthetic, performing orthodontic or permanent restorative procedures; and for denturists, this includes dentures over implants. (These are found in the Table below under the column entitled: 'Certifications'.) Important note: As of May 1, 2025, there is no longer an additional requirement for dental hygienists to apply to the Regulator for self-initiation. All dental hygienists in Nova Scotia, unless there is a specific condition or restriction on their licence, can self-initiate care for their clients (i.e., determine when and how to provide dental hygiene services). Therefore, you will not see 'self-initiation' listed under the "Certification' column.
- Please contact the regulatory body directly if you have questions about individuals who remain on the register, but their licences have expired, or about former registrants.
